Boss Fights

Boss rooms in Escape Running Head Eyes are not “one more corridor with a bigger eye.” They change the contract: timers, open air, races, or a sword. This page is the fight list. Numbered routing stays on the walkthrough. Character lore lives on Felipeye, the eyes roster, and bosses.

Locks first, because most wipes are “I walked into the wrong portal.”

  • Level 4 needs a previous clear and the hub boss teleporter. It is the gate into the mid-game, not the sky fight itself.
  • Level 5 is the boss of the sky (badge: survive that fight).
  • Level 9 is locked like Level 4 and hosts Blue Eye.
  • Level 10 is the Final Battle against Felipeye (~0.6% win rate).
  • Death Sun is the Vapor finale after you help Boomburst toward the castle.
  • Skullaye is the Halloween battle after Levels I–II.

Retry places exist for several of these (Retry?, Retry ??, Retry against The Death Sun). Use them. Replaying Levels 1–3 to practice Felipeye is how 90-minute estimates become three-hour nights.

Level 5 — boss of the sky (~19%)

You already paid the Level 4 lock. The sky fight is endurance in open space: projectiles, limited floor, and almost no “safe corner” from the corridor game. Community first-clears often describe a ~120 second survive window and a prompt that you can bring a few people.

Plan: strafe perpendicular to volleys, jump only for floor tells, never chase the boss off a platform. Teammates are extra missile magnets. If two of you stand on the same tile, one volley deletes the run. Watch the sky model, not your own feet, then correct. When the survive condition completes, take the portal; do not pose on the last platform.

This is the fight that teaches you the controls lesson in reverse: corners will not save you. If you still panic-sprint here, go back to the hub drill before Level 9.

Level 9 — Blue Eye (~1.8%)

Locked. Clear the previous numbered stage, then commit. The stage language is low gravity, blue kill surfaces, pipes, and a race / surf against Blue Eye. Official story framing: this is the last gate before the “real battle.”

Plan: do not touch blue. Treat it like lava with prettier lighting. Start the race segment only when Blue Eye is on the mark — starting the swim or surf early desyncs the cycle and you lose to a boss that was never late. Jump timing matters more than Shift. If you fall off the arena, that is a reset, not a secret (secrets are holes on normal levels; see secret levels).

Blue Eye is a named threat on the eyes tier list. Learn the silhouette so you do not confuse it with random large patrols in Level 8.

Level 10 — Felipeye (~0.6%)

The main antagonist. Badge: “Clear the final battle by defeating the main antagonist of the game!” Felipeye is why the eyes hate you: he controls them. The fight gives you a sword (Eden’s Aegis in the track/UI) with a jumpy close-range feel. This is not a 120-second hide test and not a laser hallway.

Plan:

  1. Learn one punish window. Swing when the model finishes a slam or charge, then back off.
  2. Use the arena edge to bait without stepping off. You can make him miss into space more easily than you can tank a combo.
  3. Do not spray jumps. The sword already adds vertical weirdness; extra hops eat your aim.
  4. Ignore the urge to “save the kingdom” mid-fight. King Eye and Queen Eye show up in the resolution, not as extra health bars you must dps.

Beating Felipeye also unlocks Challenge Mod if you never joined Dimension Neverland. That is the intended story unlock; the group join is the shortcut.

Death Sun — Vapor castle

Vapor World opens after Level 6. Four stages, vaporwave look, then Death Sun. The NPC Boomburst wants the castle. Your job is to get that character there, then win the sun battle. Death Sun’s badge rate sits near 0.1%. Retry for Boomburst and Retry against The Death Sun are there because the fight is a separate place.

Plan: play Vapor as platforming plus chase, not as another Felipeye clone. Save fight-specific movement for the sun arena. Full world notes: Vapor World.

Skullaye — Halloween

Unlock: clear Level 3, return to the hub, enter the orange portal. Play Halloween I and II, then the Halloween Battle against Skullaye (~0.1%), then Level III (added as a post-boss stage). Skullaye is a holiday boss, not a reskin of Felipeye. Expect a dedicated arena and a retry door. Route: Challenge and Halloween.

Rank these encounters on the modes tier list if you want an order besides story. For a clean night: sky boss until it is boring, Blue Eye until the race is on time, Felipeye until the sword feels short, then Skullaye or Death Sun as DLC brains, not as “one more Level 10.”
