Escape Running Head Eyes Vapor World

Four neon stages after Level 6, Boomburst’s castle run, and the Death Sun fight.

Last updated:

Vapor World

Vapor World is the vaporwave side campaign in Escape Running Head Eyes: four stages, then the Death Sun fight. It is not a secret hole and not Halloween. The official Vapor Level 1 badge says to clear at least Level 6 before you get access. If you are still bouncing off Level 3, stay on the walkthrough. If Level 6 is done, this is the best “different game” you can open without touching Felipeye.

Aesthetic: pink-purple neon, grid suns, slower music, jungle-critter energy on Vapor 1. Gameplay is still eyes plus parkour plus the occasional puzzle button. Do not turn your brain off because the lighting is prettier. Patrol rules from controls still apply — walk, then sprint, corners when they exist, no panic jumps into neon kill floors.

Unlock and how to enter

  1. Earn Level 6 cleared (~10%).
  2. Return to the hub (Level 1) and look for the Vapor entrance among the extra-world portals. It will not behave like the orange Halloween door on Challenge and Halloween, which already opened after Level 3.
  3. If the portal ignores you, you are on the wrong save: the badge text is the gate, not a cosmetics flag.

Vapor Level 1’s win rate sits around 0.5% of all players — not because the first stage is Felipeye-hard, but because most visits never reach Level 6. Vapor 2 is rarer still (~0.3%). Death Sun is ~0.1%.

The four stages

Treat them as a set. Places in the universe include Vapor Level 1, Vapor Level 2, Vapor Level 3, then Sun Battle, with Retry for Boomburst? and Retry against The Death Sun sitting beside them.

Vapor 1. Teaching world. Learn which floors are cosmetic grids and which are death. Eyes still chase; the palette just hides contrast. If a path looks like a music-video skybox, camera-down before you step. Badge: “Clear the first level of Vapor World.”

Vapor 2. Tighter platforming. Community music notes a pants-werewolf energy; mechanically you should expect less hallway, more timed jumps. Same rule as main Level 8: if you die twice on one ledge, look for a button or an alternate strip instead of repeating the same sprint.

Vapor 3. Late-world density. You are being prepared for an arena, so open space starts to appear. Practice strafes you will need against Death Sun. Do not dump all your focus on screenshot spots; the NPC story starts to matter here.

Vapor 4 / approach. This is where Boomburst becomes the point. The NPC needs to reach the castle. You are escorting a character through eye country, not speedrunning a ghost. If Boomburst lags, wait. If you run the castle gate alone, the sun fight may not be in the state the badge wants. Use Retry for Boomburst? when the escort fails instead of replaying Vapor 1 from the hub.

Death Sun

Death Sun is the Vapor boss (~0.1%). It is not Felipeye with a filter. Open arena, sun-scale model, retry place of its own. Read boss fights for how it sits next to the sky boss and Skullaye.

Plan:

  • Enter from the castle sequence, not from a random hub click, so Boomburst’s flag is set.
  • Strafe like Level 5’s sky fight: perpendicular to tells, jump only for floor hazards.
  • Do not sword-brain it. You may not have Level 10’s Eden’s Aegis here; play the published kit.
  • When you wipe, Retry against The Death Sun is faster than “just one more Vapor 2.”

After the badge, the story hand-off is that explorers later find more eyes in Escape Running Head Eyes 2 even with Felipeye and Death Sun down. That sequel is a different place (16786814154). Notes: sequel.

Session advice

Do not sandwich Vapor between Level 7 and Level 8 on a first clear. Numbered muscle memory and neon muscle memory fight each other. A clean plan: finish main 1–6, play Vapor 1 the same night, stop. Next session Vapor 2–3. Next session Boomburst + Death Sun. Then return to Levels 7–10.

If you care about 90-minute “everything” claims, Vapor is a big slice. Mark stages on the badge checklist and slot them in the route planner. Compare pain with Halloween using the modes tier list. Eyes you meet here still belong on the eyes page; Death Sun belongs with bosses.

Vapor World is optional. It is also the only place Boomburst gets a castle. Play it when Level 6 is honest, not when you are hiding from Blue Eye.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for new and returning players.

When does Vapor World unlock?

After you clear Level 6. The Vapor 1 badge says you need at least that stage. Main-path context is on the walkthrough.

How many Vapor stages are there?

Four, then Death Sun. Places include Vapor 1–3 and Sun Battle, plus Boomburst/Death Sun retries.

Who is Boomburst?

The Vapor NPC you help reach the castle before Death Sun. If the escort fails, use the Boomburst retry. See bosses.

Is Death Sun the same as Felipeye?

No. Felipeye is the Level 10 antagonist. Death Sun is the Vapor finale. Compare both on boss fights.

Should I play Vapor or Halloween first?

Halloween opens after Level 3; Vapor after Level 6. If you only have Level 3, take the orange portal. Mode ranking: modes tier list.

Does Vapor count toward the 90-minute full clear?

Yes. The developer’s “entire game” estimate includes Vapor, secrets, Challenge, and Halloween. Track it with the route planner.
