Escape Running Head Eyes Running Eyes Field Guide

Patrol loops versus aggro, community nicknames, and which bodies actually end a run.

Running Eyes

Running eyes are the everyday enemy of Escape Running Head Eyes. Ryxku’s parody (place 9169654849, 15 players) fills parks, woods, corridors, and event worlds with moving eyeballs. Some loop. Some hunt. A few hold a room with a beam or a wide body. This page is about how that AI feels, not about inventing a Pokédex. Threat ranks live on the Eye Tier List. Named bosses live on Boss Roster. The tyrant who controls them is Felipeye.

Official names on badges or places: Gammaye, Felipeye, Death Sun, Skullaye, Boomburst. Everything else below is a community nickname from playthroughs. Use the nicknames to talk about clips. Do not treat them as a complete developer roster.

Patrol versus aggression

Patrol eyes walk a path. If you stand on the path, you die. If you wait, they leave. Early community nicknames — Mouth Eye, Wooden Eye, Cow Eye, Cartoon Eye — usually play this way. Mouth Eye is the “that is a mouth” joke from Level 2 videos. Wooden Eye is the default wood-textured runner. Cow Eye is a spotted gag. Cartoon Eye is the sticker look. They still collide. They do not need a speech about hate. They need you to count the loop.

Aggression eyes shorten the leash. They turn, they chase, they make the camera feel smaller than the hallway. Community nicknames Angry Eye, Ruby Eye, and Wooden XL-Eye sit here. XL is size and panic. Angry is attitude. Ruby is the late-palette hunter pubs treat as a miniboss even when the stage badge is still mid-game. In a 15-player server, aggression is worse because someone else pulls the body through your parkour.

Area denial is the third feel. Community nicknames Guardian Eye and Elder Guardian Eye, plus laser-style eyes, hold space. You do not outrun a held angle; you wait, bait, or take a worse line. Gammaye (official, Level 5, 19% badge: you survived against Gammaye) is the named version of that mid-game pressure.

Race / arena eyes stop being hallway AI. Blue Eye (community nickname, Level 9, 1.8% stage) is a timed racer. Felipeye, Death Sun, and Skullaye are bosses. If you still play them like Wooden Eye, you will feed the 0.6% and 0.1% clubs.

Nickname list (community unless noted)

  • Mouth Eye — early gag patrol.
  • Wooden Eye — standard wood chaser.
  • Cartoon Eye — joke cosmetic; D-tier threat on the eye list.
  • Guardian Eye / Elder Guardian Eye — space holders, A-tier feel.
  • Wooden XL-Eye — jumbo wood body, B-tier panic.
  • Cow Eye — spotted patrol gag.
  • Angry Eye — short-leash chaser.
  • Gammaye — official Level 5 name.
  • Ruby Eye / Golden Eye — palette hunters; Golden often looks more important than it is.
  • Blue Eye — Level 9 racer, S-tier threat.
  • Felipeye — official antagonist.
  • Death Sun / Skullaye — official event/Vapor bosses.
  • Boomburst — official ally NPC in Vapor World, not a chase rank.

How AI interacts with stages

The main level list ranks places. This page ranks bodies. A D-tier Cartoon Eye on an S-tier Level 8 still kills you if you jump into it. An S-tier Blue Eye on Level 9 is the reason the stage is S.

Boss-adjacent stages change the rules:

  • Level 4: reach the sky boss teleporter and checkpoint (27%).
  • Level 5: survive Gammaye (19%).
  • Level 9: Blue Eye race (1.8%).
  • Level 10: Felipeye (0.6%).

Event worlds reuse the same language with new skins. Halloween adds Skullaye. Vapor adds Death Sun and Boomburst. Challenge Mod is the same eyes with less mercy; ranks on the Modes Tier List.

Practical habits

  1. Watch the loop before the sprint. Patrol eyes are free if you wait one cycle. Controls matter more than a new nickname.
  2. Do not drag aggro across other players. XL and Angry bodies turn a 15-player server into a pinball table.
  3. Treat lasers and guardians as doors, not runners. Standing still is a skill.
  4. Name the S-tier bodies out loud. Blue Eye, Felipeye, Death Sun, Skullaye. If you cannot name what killed you, watch the early-levels video and come back.
  5. Stop farming C-tier respect. After Level 4, dying to Mouth Eye is a fundamentals issue. Fix it in Getting Started, not with a new gamepass.

Why they hate you

The game’s own tease: most of the big eyes are very aggressive; look for the reason that causes so much hate. The reason is Felipeye. Field AI does not need a novel. It needs you to remember that a patrol in Level 2 and a tyrant in Final Battle are the same faction. After both Felipeye and Death Sun fall, Escape Running Head Eyes 2 finds eyes who still want to scare people without him. That is a sequel problem. In this place, the running eyes are his.

Use this field guide in the lobby when a friend asks “what was the big wood one?” Point them at Wooden XL-Eye, then at the eye tier list so they do not give a joke cosmetic an S-rank. Keep official links for the live place, and keep this page for the feel of the chase.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for new and returning players.

What is the difference between patrol and aggression?

Patrol eyes loop a path and punish you for standing on it. Aggression eyes turn and chase with a shorter leash. Area-denial eyes hold a beam or a room instead of running the hallway.

Is Blue Eye an official name?

No. Blue Eye is a community nickname for the Level 9 racer. The stage badge is Level 9 cleared. Treat the nickname as a clip label.

Does Gammaye count as a running eye or a boss?

Both in conversation. The Level 5 badge names Gammaye as the thing you survived. This page treats Gammaye as named mid-game pressure; Boss Roster lists the arena bosses.

Why do 15-player servers feel harder?

Aggressive and XL bodies get pulled by other players across your line. The AI is the same; the crowd is not. Empty servers make patrols honest again.

Where should I rank these names?

On the Eye Tier List. This page is behavior and nicknames. The tier list is S–F threat. The main hub ranks levels, not models.
